CNN’s Stephanie Cutter Reluctantly Agrees with Erick Erickson

On Monday afternoon, CNN’s Crossfire host Stephanie Cutter surprised herself by agreeing with comments made by conservative pundit Erick Erickson about House Speaker John Boehner’s plans to sue President Barack Obama.
“It’s no secret that I’m outraged by current House Speaker John Boehner’s decision to waste our tax dollars by suing President Obama,” Cutter said. “But I never thought I would agree with conservative blogger Erick Erickson. Something today he wrote is actually right on target.”
Cutter then quoted Erickson’s latest column:
“John Boehner and the House Republicans may lack the testicular fortitude to fight President Obama, but I would kindly ask that he save the taxpayers further money on a political stunt.”
This time, there was apparently no disclaimer necessary.
“I can’t imagine how Erickson’s going to start describing Hillary,” co-host Newt Gingrich said in response, before saying he disagrees with the pundit’s basic premise.
“Don’t take it from me,” Cutter said. “Take it from many conservatives. It’s just like shutting down the government almost a year ago. It’s a stunt. And it wastes taxpayers’ dollars and it wastes time when they could actually be doing something.”
Gingrich suggested that Crossfire get Erickson on the panel soon so they can hash the whole thing out.
