Colbert Mocks Today Show Halloween: ‘Where in the World Is Matt Lauer’s Dignity?’

Stephen Colbert opened last night’s “Col-scare Report” by explaining how much he loves Halloween. But just like the hosts of Fox News’ The Five, he recognizes that there are “some real grinches out there” who want to ruin the holiday for everyone.

Turning to the annual morning show costume tradition, Colbert was impressed with Kelly Ripa as Miley Cyrus and George Stephanopoulos as a “tiny astronaut.” But there was one morning show anchor who took things way too far.

“On today’s The Today Show today, Halloween died,” Colbert declared, “when anchor Matt Lauer dressed up as my waking nightmare.” After showing a clip of Matt Lauer running in slow motion in his Pamela Anderson from Baywatch costume, Colbert said he was looking forward to the show’s new segment, “Where in the World is Matt Lauer’s Dignity?”
