David Axelrod: Hillary’s Private Email Sever Was ‘Not Good Judgment’
Former Obama advisor David Axelrod chastised his former boss’ Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her use of private email, saying on CNN’s New Day that she did not show “good judgment.”
Axelrod said that the Clinton campaign’s best response to the email controversy was to keep the conversation about whether Clinton “knowingly” sent classified material. “Because the answer to that is likely to be no,” he argued.
“Yes, but they say it’s a matter of judgment,” host Alisyn Camerota said, referring to Clinton’s critics. “She should have known that the content was hot.”
“I think it’s fair to say… the whole notion of having all of your communications on private e-mail on your own server was not good judgment,” Axelrod allowed.
“I think that’s a fair critique,” he admitted. “Whether this is a fair critique I think will unfold as the Justice Department looks at this.”
Axelrod hasn’t pulled his punches against Clinton ever since joining CNN as a political contributor, mocking her attempts at authenticity on Twitter and critiquing her decision to call Republicans her worst enemies during a debate.
