Democrat Hits Back at Fox News Anchor On Inflation Claim: ‘If I Can Point You To Fox’s Own Polling’
A former adviser to Kamala Harris used Fox News’s own polling to push back against anchor Harris Faulkner during a conversation about inflation.
Mike Nellis appeared on Thursday’s episode of The Faulkner Focus to talk about the issues plaguing the Democratic Party. After listing a handful of 2028 Democratic hopefuls, Faulkner noted that the party was “not moving in concert with one another.”
After conceding that was indeed the case, Nellis claimed that both parties were “completely out of touch with the day-to-day lives of most Americans”:
NELLIS: What I’ll tell you, though, is I think both political parties are completely out of touch with the day-to-day lives of most Americans. There’s a lot of polling out in the last couple of weeks talking about how frustrated people are with inflation and pricing and housing and things like that–
FAULKNER: Inflation’s at 2 percent! The GDP just popped–
NELLIS: Inflation’s at 2.9 percent, actually, Harris — 2.9.
FAULKNER: GDP just hopped to 3 percent. I mean, we haven’t seen that in a very long time.
NELLIS: If I could point you to Fox’s own polling, Trump is negative-30 percent on pricing and the inflation. It’s as unpopular as Joe Biden ever was. So the American people are pretty frustrated with where their lives are right now. There’s a Navigator poll out — just this morning or yesterday — that has a lot of Americans saying they’re worse off than they were six months ago.
Nellis, a Democratic strategist, was formerly a senior adviser for Harris. He’s credited as one of the co-founders of the group “White Dudes for Harris,” which was thrust into the mainstream during Harris’ run for the presidency in 2024.
