Ed Schultz, DNC Official Dismiss Hillary Email Controversy: ‘Benghazi Witch Hunt’

Ed Schultz and a DNC official tonight both invoked Republican hysteria over Benghazi in dismissing the controversy about Hillary Clinton only using a private email account while she was Secretary of State.

DNC executive board member Mitch Ceasar told Schultz the whole thing is just “Benghazi fever,” explaining, “Republicans are really good; when there’s no fire, they create smoke and they create questions. Professor Caroline Heldman added that the outrage is “partisan politics at its best” because there is “zero evidence” Clinton is hiding something.

Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, also weighed in, telling Schultz it’s a “nothing burger” and that no matter what Clinton does, “the right wing will never be satisfied.”

As for Schultz, while he did say there could be some trouble for Clinton if reporters learn about more emails they didn’t hand over, he did call this the start of a “Benghazi witch hunt part two.”
