‘Fact-Check Me’: James Carville Gets Hannity to Admit It’s ‘True’ That Biden Oversaw Record Energy Production

Democratic strategist James Carville went into enemy territory on Thursday night and told Sean Hannity on Fox News what he thinks of President Donald Trump.

Appearing on Thursday’s Hannity, Carville and the host mixed it up on several fronts, including domestic energy production, which last year was at its highest in history under former President Joe Biden.

“I hear James Carville circa 1990s, and it’s like [now] you don’t wanna address what Americans seem to say are their top priorities,” Hannity said, alluding to the Bill Clinton campaign vet’s 1992 mantra about the economy. “Illegal immigration, they want lower energy prices, they want the economy fixed. And you’re right. It will take a little bit of time. We got to get [budget] reconciliation passed. Democrats won’t help with any of that. So, maybe sometime in May, we’ll begin to get the Trump economy in place.”

Carville seized on Hannity’s mention of “lower energy prices.”

“Do you know what year had the most domestic energy production in American history?” he said. “I happen to know: 2024. Fact-check me.”

“No, that statement is true,” Hannity conceded. “But I’ll say this. One of the reasons we were in the position to get the highest gas production is because Donald Trump, for the first time in 75 years in his first term, the first time in 75 years, made America energy independent. And Democrats have been fighting against that. And their EV mandates, and their $7 billion for electric vehicles. Anyway, I don’t know, James, I think you need a new playbook. I really do.”
