Fox and Friends Asks: ‘Is The Liberal Media Helping Terrorists?’

Fox and Friends took a break from “Kagan Mania” this morning to cover a subject that combined two of their favorite subjects: Terrorism and the “Liberal Media.” Guest Gabriel Schoenfeld , a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, posited that the Faisal Shahzad was indirectly helped by reports on how counter-terrorism efforts track cell phone usage and finances that surfaced earlier in the NY Times. Its worth noting that no actually claims that the NYT is helping terrorists, though the leading question is clearly asked.

Though certainly plausible, it seems rather naive to think that international terrorist organizations wouldn’t already be well aware of the digital thumbprints left by both cell phone usage and financial transactions. Either these are super smart evil geniuses (which we’ve been led to believe) or they are sort of blundering fools that only learn about their mortal enemies from articles in the NY Times, unless of course this story exists primarily for political purposes. Or to smear the NY Times. Or both.
