Fox & Friends Host Anna Kooiman Apologizes for Airing Phony Muslim Museum Story
Fox & Friends co-host Anna Kooiman apologized on Saturday for airing a false story about President Barack Obama personally funding a Muslim museum through the shutdown, a story that turned out to have been published by the satirical website National Report.
“Last weekend, we mentioned a story about the President funding a Muslim museum during the shutdown,” Kooiman said. “We made a bad mistake by reporting a story based on poor research that was not true. We apologize for not checking the facts, and for allowing the story to make air.”
Kooiman tweeted a more circumspect apology on Sunday, but criticism only mounted over the next few days:

For the record, the International Museum of Muslim Culture in Jackson, Mississippi is an independent museum and thus not affected by the shutdown.
