Fox Hosts Defend Darren Wilson: ‘His Life Is Ruined’

An Outnumbered discussion about Ferguson sounded a bit more like a Darren Wilson support group than a cogent conversation about justice Wednesday afternoon. Led by host Andrea Tantaros, the group examined recent statements from Wilson about what happened when he shot and killed Michael Brown and determined them to be truthful.

“It was an instant split-second decision, the kind that cops make every day, that soldiers make on the battlefield,” Pete Hegseth began, giving Wilson the benefit of the doubt. “I know guys like Darren Wilson — I know him — and he just wanted to do his job and go about his life,” he added.

“No police officer wants to shoot anybody, this is a tragedy,” Tantaros said. “His life is ruined. Darren Wilson’s life is ruined. His career is ruined, this is not a decision that he wanted to make.”

Of everyone on the panel, Kennedy was the only one who saw any fault in what Wilson did, noting that he should have used a taser or mace instead of shooting and killing Brown. “He had a couple of tools in his arsenal before using deadly force,” she said.
