Fox News Contributor Rips FBI After NOLA Attack – Says Agency ‘Lost Focus On Real Threats’ with Trump ‘Obsession’
Fox News contributor Nicole Parker ripped the FBI Thursday, a day after a man mowed down a crowd of people ringing in the new year in New Orleans and a day after another man exploded a Tesla Cybertruck at the Trump hotel in Las Vegas.
Parker, a former FBI agent, told network anchor Julie Banderas the agency had been “obsessed” with political gripes against President-elect Donald Trump and the American right before the Vegas and New Orleans incidents. Parker claimed due to her former agency’s being politicized, it “lost focus on real threats” facing the country.
On Thursday’s The Faulkner Focus, Banderas noted the suspects in the Vegas and New Orleans incidents – Matthew Livelsberger and Shamsud Din Jabbar – were current or former US Army veterans and asked Parker for her thoughts.
Parker said the FBI had its hands full with the two investigations but ripped the agency and its leadership.
“I think for far too long, the FBI has kind of lost focus on real threats facing America,” she said. “They’ve been so obsessed with, you know, ‘domestic terrorism’ and January 6th violence and going after President Trump. Parker added:
And now we’re kind of seeing the impact of that because there is serious terrorist activity going on within our nation. When we mentioned what happened in New Orleans versus what happened in Las Vegas, I understand that there is no clear link at this time. But again, as an agent, just my gut instinct says too many coincidences here. Two, like you said, Army veterans, they both rented through the Turo app. They both used electrical vehicles. They both used trucks. They were on the same day. They wreaked havoc. I do want to see further investigation and see if there are any links. But I think what many Americans are confused by is that the FBI ASAP gets out there yesterday morning and I was on air with you shortly after the press conference and she said there’s there’s no terrorism here with such a definitive statement.
That’s pretty bold when actually there was 100 percent terrorism. So on the flip side, they said, you know, she said they acted. They were not solely responsible for this activity. Then today, they’re saying, well, we think that they really were acting independently. So, I think the American people are very confused, and it does take time. I understand that there’s a very large amount of information that they’re sifting through, and it takes time to conduct investigations. But right now, it is time for the FBI to be clear and to be transparent, and to be direct and honest with the American people. Unfortunately, their trust has been betrayed by the FBI, and it’s time for them to regain that trust and confidence. And right now, we just need some clear messaging.
