‘He Needs to Answer for What He Did’: Bergdahl Platoon Members to Megyn Kelly

Three of Bowe Bergdahl‘s platoon members spoke out on Megyn Kelly‘s show tonight, and all of them said they wanted to see him answer for what he did. Bergdahl has officially been charged with desertion and a trial is expected.

Cody Full said it was a little frustrating to see the White House and Cabinet members “basically calling him a hero” when “the facts have been the same for five years” and other servicemembers gave their lives to try and save Bergdahl.

Josh Cornelison said giving Bergdahl an honorable discharge or anything similar would be a “slap in the face” to everyone who has served honorably. Evan Buetow told Kelly he really wants Bergdahl not to plea and to go to trial because, he said, “I want to hear from him why he did what he did” and “he needs to answer for what he did.”

Kelly asked if Bergdahl being held by the Taliban for five years was punishment enough. Full said he feels bad, but actions have consequences and the only reason he ended up caught was because he was a deserter in the first place.
