Here’s a CNN Anchor Arguing Why ‘Weird Al Could Un-Robin Thicke Congress’
“Weird Al” Yankovic‘s been on an amazing run this week with music videos spoofing “Happy,” “Blurred Lines,” and “Royals.” And naturally, cable news is loving the videos (as a time-filler, of course), and today CNN’s John Berman explained how Yankovic has the power to “un-Robin Thicke Congress.”
Seriously.
See, Robin Thicke is one of the artists Yankovic spoofed, and for Berman, who argued Yankovic is a national treasure we should appreciate more, “‘Blurred Lines’ is a parody of itself, its own terribleness mocks its own awfulness.”
And because Yankovic was able to take something that bad and make it good, Berman suggested, “Yankovic could turn kale into candy, he could help Brazil stop Germany from scoring. And then there’s Congress…. Yankovic could un-Robin Thicke Congress. He would make it work.”
Another thing the “Blurred Lines” video and Congress have in common: really, just too many boobs.
