House Republican Suggests Gaza Be ‘Nuked’ Like Hiroshima in Shocking Appearance on Fox News

Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) compared the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas to the end of World War II while on Fox News Thursday, arguing that the nuclear bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki resulted in an “unconditional surrender” and that the “same” needs to happen with Gaza.

During an appearance on Fox & Friends First, Fine said, “In World War II, we did not negotiate a surrender with the Nazis, we didn’t negotiate a surrender with the Japanese. We nuked the Japanese twice in order to get unconditional surrender. That needs to be the same here.”

The comments came hours after two Israeli embassy staffers, Sarah Lynn Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, were shot and killed outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC. The alleged gunman, identified as Elias Rodriguez, shouted “free Palestine” as he was arrested.

During an interview with Fox News hosts Todd Piro and Carley Shimkus, the duo questioned Fine about the murders.

The newly elected congressman said “Palestinianism is built on violence” and that his “heart does bleed” for the staffers who were killed.

Fine, who is Jewish, linked the attack to what he described as a violent ideology on college campuses protesting Israel’s wars in Gaza.

Shimkus asked him, “Does this shooting change anything when it comes to the course of the war or the negotiations to end it?”

Fine responded:

I think it speaks to the importance of the only end of the conflict is complete and total surrender by those who support Muslim terror. In World War II, we did not negotiate a surrender with the Nazis, we didn’t negotiate a surrender with Japanese. We nuked the Japanese twice in order to get unconditional surrender. That needs to be the same here. There is something deeply, deeply wrong with this culture, and it needs to be defeated.

Fine has previously come under fire for his comments about the war, which the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) described as “violently anti-Muslim, anti-American, and anti-Palestinian.” In one, he referred to a fellow member of Congress as a “Muslim terrorist” and responded to reports of children starving in Gaza with the hashtag: “#StarveAway”.
