Did Mitt Romney Live In His Son’s Unfinished Basement? If Not, Did He Commit Voter Fraud?
Rachel Maddow opened a segment last night by running a clip of Senator Scott Brown thanking GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney for his support in his special election victory speech. She follows up by alleging that Romney had claimed to have been living in his son’s “unfinished basement,” which has led one of Romney’s lesser known opponent, Fred Karger, to ask the state of Massachusetts to investigate if Romney was legally able to vote, or did he commit…voter fraud! (Duh, duh, duh!)
Maddow later states in the segment embedded below that, asking whether or not Romney committed voter fraud is at least a reasonable question to ask…unless you happen to be part of the Massachusetts state election board, who thus far has appear to be stonewalling any inquiries. Romney’s proponents, however, have dismissed this line of questioning as the sort of “attack” that frontrunners always need to endure — which is not an unfair point.
Either way, the visualization of mega-millionaire Mitt Romney living in an unfinished basement is just entertaining enough to guarantee that this meme will likely continue to grow. One can imagine that at the very least Romney became a proficient ping pong player or played Atari all day in his son’s unfinished basement. That’s not all bad, right?
