DAD!! Scott Brown Embarrasses Daughters During Acceptance Speech
During tonight’s acceptance speech Scott Brown reminded people why he won the replacement election in Massachusetts: he is a “regular joe” who drives a GMC truck, is prone to ramble, and is skilled at making inappropriate comments designed to embarrass his daughters. While thanking his family members for their support during his successful campaign, he made sure to point out that both his daughters were “available.” And now talking heads will debate for the next 24 hours – was that comment “funny ha-ha”? Or just “funny strange?”

OMG what a mess he sounded like. I do hope he gets a little more class before he hits the senate floor.
He used them for some fun, almost Kennedyesque marketing during the campaign, so it only makes sense that he returns the favor.
It’s just a bad unfunny joke. Let’s see how the media overblows this one…
@SWWT: They’re going to be too busy with the “is health care reform dead; what does this mean for the Obama agenda; what will this mean in November; is the Senate going to be at a standstill” meme to pay much attention to a father bragging about his daughters.
Especially, since those opposed to the President’s agenda have been known to say some pretty exciting things, while anyone who opposes Sen-elect’s Brown thing about his daughters is just going to blend into the dull hum of statistics and politics… I’d be surprised if it gets all the way to morning.
I would like to repeat something to all you whiners that one of your left wing nut job leaders Nancy Pelosi said : “We won… you lost!…. get over it.
But I am glad to see the true center left democrats in Mass are still around believing in morals and values along with seeing the Change thing was a big joke! The democrat party is getting hijacked right now and people are starting to notice.
This is a nothing moment. Now the real fun begins tomorrow. Let’s see what obama’s next move is.
Ha. Too funny. I guess that’s what “real Americans” say. 59-41…. The Dems are in BIG trouble, right wingers??
It was inspiring, fun, and gave us a glimpse into the delightful relationship the Brown family shares. Those of you that thought it classless or stupid are the types Scott Brown is being sent to Washington to help us get rid of. We’re awake now, we’re seeing what you’re doing, and we’re putting a stop to it. Buckle up, 2010’s going to be fun…and a prelude to an amazing 2012.
I think the more appropriate question is:
“And now MSNBC will debate for the next 24 hours – was that comment “funny ha-ha”? Or just “funny strange?”
As I read (at NRO, I believe), this is the first time David Gergan has helped to elect a Republican.
And now talking heads will debate for the next 24 hours – was that comment “funny ha-ha”? Or just “funny strange?”
Instead of discussing the meaning behind this Dem loss, and what message the people are sending? Instead of discussing the actual impact the tea party people have made, and that Dems, Indys and Repubs are all rejecting what the Obama administration is doing? Yes, I can see that a loving father teasing his daughters should be the top news story… none of them will want to admit why Brown won.
In all seriousness, I thought his speech was very classy – his comments about the Kennedy’s was first rate. And I think the comment about his daughters was hysterical. It’s nice to watch someone give a speech, and go off the teleprompter, for once.
In his attempt to make a “snarky point”….Colby Hall’s take on this is “remarkably crass”……..

I was thinking about the disgusting Olby, and his hyterics, too. I think he also is responsible for helping to elect Brown. People (the very tiny group of peope that actually watch his show) were flat out rejecting his disgusting attempts to smear Brown.
Wow, another Woodward/Bernstein moment from Colby!
This has to be absolutely heartbreaking for progressives. A decent guy, with common sense, a sense of humor and a beautiful family gets elected. Absolutely opposite of all things held dear by the left.
Is that all you on the left have? A proud dad teasing his daughters in a loving way?
Really sad.
I hear Levi Johnston is also “available”
Just a “Regular Joe” who posed in the nude? A candid shot in the nude is one thing, but posed? I know lots of Regular Joes, but I know none who have done that. Well, it was a long time ago, he seems a decent sort, even with a somewhat phoney image he has created for himself. I wish him well. Lord knows, we could use some talent and dedication in Congress.
They are obviously a very close family. My family is the same way. I’m sorry for you that haven’t experienced that. If that’s all you can find to criticize, that’s pretty good, I’d say. And blue-blogger, we’ve got a smooth talker in BO, and look what that’s got us. I’ll take someone who talks like normal folks over that any day.
MichelleF is right. Colby loses again and again and again in his sad attempts to actually be part of the discussion.
So Brown posed for Cosmo and teased his daughters, if that is the worst the left can do then he is in great shape! This doesn’t even come close to the “crimes” Kennedy, the last holder of this seat, was guilty of.
They are just jeaous about Brown’s centerfold.
I mean, seriously, check out their centerfold senator:

Enough with the truck. That is about as real as Fred Thompson going to his mama’s house to get his old one back and drive around. Is it symbolic of some people actually needing to drive their vehicle until it reaches 200,000 miles? Only if it were true that Scott Brown could not afford a new truck. So no, it was just a gimmick. Apparently it works.

“Enough with the truck…it was just a gimmick.”
One that BO fell for hook, line & sinker — he was obsessed with it when he was there campaigning for Coakley.

I have to say, though, seeing Brown posed in Cosmos is much easier on the senses than just even knowing what was going on in the Oval Office between Clinton and Lewinsky.
Im a Democrat and I know and like the candidate that lost but jeeze, who are these fakers that are pretending that this bit of family comedy was anything but a Dad teasing his daughter and her responding to that teasing with adorable embarrassment and obvious affection for her ol’ man?
Its not like both Father and Daughter dont know that she is an uber babe – and he was putting her up for bid because no boys ever come a-calling. That six foolt lass is no terrified wallflower bookworm type of young lady who would be mortified by such words, this young woman was a finalist on friggin American Idol and she STARTS for a Division 1 college basketball squad. I think that this may have made her blush, but dont think think for a minute that this upset her one bit.
Unless youre just trying to make up a “controversy”.. No, that couldnt be whats happening here could it?
My liking for that family went up 1000% when I saw how the Mom, Dad and two daughters responded to that ribbing. I thought it adorable. (Btw, Mrs Brown is better looking than her husband!)
God – get a grip folks.

Rahm Emanuel On 60 Minutes: “Fringe Group Has Taken Control” Of GOP

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel was recently interviewed by CBS' Katie Couric for tomorrow night's episode of 60 Minutes, a short clip of which has been released online. In the clip made available, Emanuel briefly discusses the challenges of his political foes: the Republican Party, and says that they have their "own problems and fissures" and are "at the behest of a fringe group that's taken control of their own party." Obama’s Final Push On Health Care To Democratic Caucus On Capitol Hill
President Barack Obama spoke in the conference hall of the Capitol today about the health care reform bill which is coming close to meeting enough votes to pass in the House of Representatives, which earlier today decided not use the "deem and pass" strategy to railroad the bill through Congress. "I know this is a tough vote for some of you," said our president, adding "Don't do it for Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid, or me. Do It for the American People." Pay attention folks, this speech is definitely one for the history books.
