Jasmine Crockett Trolls Trump in Surprise Late-Night Hit — Challenges to Cognitive Faceoff

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) made a surprise late-night appearance to troll President Donald Trump and challenge him to a cognitive smackdown hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

Trump spoke to reporters aboard Air Force One en route to Japan on Monday, during which he proudly challenged Crockett and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to what he falsely characterized as “an aptitude test”:

TRUMP: They have Jasmine Crockett, a low IQ person. They have uh… AOC’s low IQ. You give her an IQ test… have her pass, like the exams that I decided to take when I was at Walter Reed. I took … those are very hard, they’re really aptitude tests, I guess, in a certain way, but they’re cognitive tests.

Let AOC go against Trump. Let Jasmine go against Trump. I don’t think Jasmine… the first couple of questions are easy: a tiger, an elephant, a giraffe, you know. When you get up to about five or six, and then when you get up to 10 and 20 and 25. They couldn’t come close to answering any of those questions.

The “very hard” test is called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA), which begins, as Trump noted, with tasks like identifying animal drawings and progresses to a climax of knowing where you are and what day it is.

On Wednesday’s edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel took Crockett through some of the assessment’s paces and asked if she would show up to a cognitive battle with Trump.

Rep. Crockett didn’t hesitate, telling Kimmel “If he’s down, I’m down!”:

JIMMY KIMMEL: Thank you for joining us. All right. I assume you are aware of the fact that the president, for whatever reason, has challenged you to a duel of the medulla, yes?

REP. JASMINE CROCKETT (D-TX): I am very well aware. I know that he can’t seem to find himself in the Oval Office to make sure that he could end this shutdown, but he does have time to troll me. So listen, if he’s down, I’m down!

JIMMY KIMMEL: Do you notice any kind of a pattern when it comes to people he frequently refers to as low IQ people?

REP. JASMINE CROCKETT (D-TX): They tend to be women and they tend to be women of color.

JIMMY KIMMEL: Yes, so you are okay. So you are smart. Okay

REP. JASMINE CROCKETT (D-TX): That’s what my mama said, yeah.

JIMMY KIMMEL: I don’t want to, you know, I have a few questions of the sort that Trump got on his cognitive assessment test.

We’re gonna start with a visual. Okay, can you name this animal?

REP. JASMINE CROCKETT (D-TX): It looks like an elephant!

JIMMY KIMMEL: Yes, it is an elephant. You’re going to crush this!

Are you at all worried about going up against a man who founded his own fraudulent university? I mean, this is not just any guy.

REP. JASMINE CROCKETT (D-TX): No. No.

JIMMY KIMMEL: No. Okay, here’s another part of the test. You have to repeat these words back to me. Leg, cotton, school, tomato, white.

REP. JASMINE CROCKETT (D-TX): Leg, cotton, school, tomato, white.

JIMMY KIMMEL: Wow, all right. All right, that’s good, but I want to warn you, there are going to be questions that favor him, like “how do you get ketchup out of a bottle?”.

And what’s the difference between a windmill and a ceiling fan? So this is not going to easy. With that said, do you accept his challenge?

REP. JASMINE CROCKETT (D-TX): Oh, I absolutely accept it!

JIMMY KIMMEL: That’s great news. We’re thinking about holding this at either the Meadowlands or the Rose Bowl or the smoldering hole that used to be the East Wing of the White House.

Do you have a preference on where it would be?

REP. JASMINE CROCKETT (D-TX): I’m saying the hole that used to be The White House.

JIMMY KIMMEL: I think that’s a really good choice. In the event of a tie, are you open to a sit-up contest?

REP. JASMINE CROCKETT (D-TX): Well, absolutely. I don’t know that he can sit up, so yes, I can.

JIMMY KIMMEL: Okay, good, yes. You call me up to do one. Well, this is very exciting. You are the first official to be part of the James C. Kimmel Cognitive Aptitude and Mental Brilliance Invitational.

Study up and we’ll be in touch. I thank you so much for your time. That is Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett.

And I look forward to hearing from the President on this very soon!
