Jim Gilmore Blows Up on CNN for Being Excluded from Debates, Blames CNN
Jim Gilmore is barely registering in the Republican primary polls, but he believes he deserves a spot in the debates and blew up on CNN this morning, blaming that network and others for keeping him out of the process.
On Reliable Sources, Brian Stelter asked Gilmore about Republican candidates’ proposals for future debates. Gilmore ended up complaining about how he is the only candidate being excluded from the debates and being left out when networks talk about “14 candidates” running.
He insisted that he is a legitimate candidate and the RNC, along with the networks, are “rigging the rules.” Gilmore called for all 15 candidates to be on the debate stage, but Stelter said that might be a little much for networks to handle.
Gilmore ended up going on a rant about how CNN was responsible for keeping him down:
“I had real momentum going in this race until CNN decided to rig the rules in order to prevent me from appearing on the stage. They rigged it to advance Carly Fiorina, they rigged it to advance people I was polling better than, and yet they didn’t put me on the stage at all.”
Stelter told him there’s no evidence to suggest the rules were designed to exclude specific candidates.
