Joe Scarborough Demolishes ‘Really Sick’ Trump Supporters Laughing at His Mockery of Paul Pelosi Attack

Joe Scarborough raked Donald Trump’s supporters across the coals for laughing at the former president’s invocation of the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband last year.

Scarborough led Morning Joe on Monday to talk about Trump’s campaign remarks over the weekend, honing in on the part where Trump’s crowd laughed when he referenced Paul Pelosi’s hospitalization after a right-wing conspiracy theorist who broke into his house and beat him with a hammer while threatening to kidnap the former House speaker.

This prompted Scarborough to lament how political discourse has corroded to the point where Trump, as the Republican frontrunner, can be embraced by his supporters for cracking jokes about political violence toward people they don’t like.

“Here’s the sick part, really sick… The sickest part is the crowd was laughing along to the joke,” Scarborough commented. “Just showing how sick this MAGA crowd has gotten, they’re laughing in the audience. On top of that, you know, he’s talking about what you got to do these mother blankers. I don’t know if he thinks he’s a rapper now, but again, this is — and these are people that say, oh, we’re upright Christians. We support Donald Trump — they support violence? [Do] they want their kids going around saying the things that Donald Trump says? I don’t think so.”

After Morning Joe ran through the lowlights of Trump’s speech before the California Republican Party, Mika Brzezinski commented that his supporters “don’t understand the ramifications, the violence even the country has seen.”

“I wonder how they would feel if their 82-year-old parent or grandparent was assaulted by a hammer and was clinging on to life, and entire audiences were laughing about their 82-year-old grandfather getting bludgeoned almost to death with a hammer,” Scarborough continued “Again, we’re in America. This is so different from everything else.”
