Jon Stewart Booed After Torturing Audience With Ted Cruz’s Horrific Simpsons Impressions: ‘The F***?!’
The Daily Show host Jon Stewart was repeatedly booed on Monday as he played clips of Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) jaw-droppingly awful impressions to a horrified audience.
During the show, Stewart played a clip of Cruz calling FCC Chairman Brendan Carr’s recent controversial remarks “dangerous as hell,” before responding, “Fantastic! Sen. Ted Cruz boldly stating that the FCC chairman threatening the licenses of networks is dangerous, and Sen. Cruz, I would just say maybe you should stop there. I would stop there. I would not continue with the thought.”
Stewart then continued the clip, which showed Cruz likening Carr to a Goodfellas mobster, before remarking with a dodgy accent, “We can do this the easy way or we can do this the hard way.”
“The f*ck?!” reacted Stewart. “What kind of mobster have you ever heard?”
He mocked, “That’s not The Godfather, that’s Lenny from Mice and Men,” before questioning, “Is there anything in pop culture that I love that you can’t ruin?”
Stewart then played a clip of Cruz impersonating several characters from The Simpsons, which was so bad the audience started to boo.
“Imagine having to endure a Texas power outage with this guy. ‘Who wants to hear my Apu? Anyone?'” said Stewart. “Well, he ruined my love of The Simpsons. At least I’ve still got my favorite franchise, Star Wars, all to myself.”
The Daily Show host proceeded to treat viewers with Cruz’s grotesque impression of Master Yoda.
“At best, he sounds like Yoda with a sinus infection trying not to come,” he mocked. “You may enjoy Star Wars, Ted Cruz, but there’s one thing we’ll never have in common and that’s my comfort movie, The Princess Bride, a fantastical tale of adventure and true love with an outstanding cast and– oh, you know what’s coming!”
