Jon Stewart Rips Nancy Pelosi, Hunter Biden in Segment Calling Out ‘F*cking Awful’ Corruption in Politics

The Daily Show host Jon Stewart called out a plethora of political figures during a segment on corruption, Monday, including Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden.

Describing Menendez’s alleged crimes as “fucking awful,” Stewart added, “You, sir, are an elected official in America’s most respected legislative body. It’s like a license to print money. You don’t need to break the law so cartoonishly when the legal corruption in the Senate is so fucking lucrative.”

Name-dropping several members of Congress who sold stocks in companies just days before their value plummeted due to unforeseen circumstances, Stewart questioned, “Now you might be wondering to yourself, how does Congress get away with all this? Well, maybe because Congress is regulated by, let me check my notes, Congress!”

Stewart proceeded to play a clip of Pelosi rejecting calls to ban members of Congress and their spouses from trading stocks and invoking the “free market” as a defense.

“Here’s the thing. In a free market, everyone has access to the same information,” noted Stewart. “So unless you’re gonna put all of us on the committees, I don’t get it.”

Stewart also called out Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) for benefiting from slush funds, before targeting former President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner for receiving $2 billion in investment from Saudi Arabia.

The Daily Show host then took aim at Hunter Biden for receiving a seat on the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, playing a clip where Biden acknowledged that he “probably” would not have received the seat were his surname not Biden.

“You know you’re in trouble when the most honest and transparent person in a story of government corruption is the ex-crackhead,” mocked Stewart, before concluding, “Robert Menendez’s gold bars in exchange for favorable legislation is obviously cartoonishly corrupt. But for anyone out there who thinks the status quo of government patronage and influence is of an entirely different species than Menendez, how dumb is you?”
