Jon Stewart Warns the Pope: Stop Being So Nice or GOP Will Invade the Vatican!

Jon Stewart noticed Thursday night there are two very distinct groups on the planet who God appear to have a personal connection with: the Pope, God’s infallible emissary on earth, and the Republican party, “God’s incredibly fallible emissaries on earth.”

Stewart referred to Pope Francis‘ comments about how “obsessed” Catholics are with gay marriage and abortion, wondering who he could possibly be talking about. He tore into Republicans opposing gay marriage and food stamps by invoking the Word of God. Stewart recalled that Bible passage: “Consider the lilies that toil not, so fuck them, lazy liles!”

Stewart warned the Pope not to keep messing with Republican views of morality, saying, “You better watch it, or we’re gonna end up invading the Vatican!”
