Joy Behar: Giuliani is Throwing Trump ‘Under The Bus’ Because He Didn’t Get a White House Job
The View co-host Joy Behar posed an interesting theory on Thursday morning regarding President Donald Trump’s new attorney Rudy Giuliani and his controversial statements made to varying media outlets this week.
Behar suggested Giuliani was still upset about not receiving a position in the White House administration in 2016. Now that the attorney and longtime friend of the president has been hired to serve as one of his lawyers, Behar said “Giuliani is unconsciously throwing [Trump] under the bus.”
“I’ll take a psychological position,” Behar began as the co-hosts discussed the lawyer’s recent statements. “I think that Giuliani is unconsciously throwing him under the bus because he didn’t make him the attorney general or the chief of staff there. That’s what’s going on.”
“I’m giving you a tip, Trump!” she joked. “He’s out to get you!”
Her theory arrived after Giuliani told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that Trump repaid his personal lawyer Michael Cohen a $130,000 hush money payment provided to porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election. He later walked back those comments — which contradicted previous claims Trump made that he was unaware of the payment — in an interview with the Washington Post. “He wasn’t told. But even if he was told, he wouldn’t have remembered it,” he said.
In a rare occurrence for The View, conservative co-host Meghan McCain added to Behar’s theory with some more information regarding the president’s relationship with Giuliani.
“I also think it’s interesting the Washington Post’s Bob Costa said this morning that the White House aides are bewildered by this, but the president and Giuliani are running their own strategy together,” she said. “Maybe Giuliani and President Trump were, like, ‘We’re going to do this on Hannity, and this is what happens. But again, if your entire surrogate operation and staff doesn’t know what you are doing, that is the definition of chaos.”
