Karl Grills Carney: Will Obamacare Have Been Worth It if Dems Lose the Senate?
ABC News’ Jonathan Karl pressed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on Sunday morning over whether the passage of the Affordable Care Act, President Barack Obama’s signature legislation, will have been worthwhile if it ends up costing the Democrats control of the Senate in 2014.
“You already lost the House because of Obamacare,” Karl said. “Will it have been worth it if you lose the Senate? That’s a simple [question.]”
“This is not about politics,” Carney said. “So the answer is: it is absolutely worth it, no matter what happens.”
“Even if you lose the Senate?” Karl said.
“I just disagree that Republicans are going to have a winning issue if they decide to run on it,” Carney said, “because they’ve got to explain what repeal means.”
