Karl Rove: Trump ‘Took Out a Twitter Gun and Shot Himself Four Times’ on Travel Ban
Fox News’ Karl Rove reacted to President Trump‘s recent tweets about the travel ban by saying tonight, “He took out a Twitter gun and shot himself four times.”
These are the four––from just this morning––he was talking about:
People, the lawyers and the courts can call it whatever they want, but I am calling it what we need and what it is, a TRAVEL BAN!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 5, 2017
The Justice Dept. should have stayed with the original Travel Ban, not the watered down, politically correct version they submitted to S.C.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 5, 2017
The Justice Dept. should ask for an expedited hearing of the watered down Travel Ban before the Supreme Court – & seek much tougher version!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 5, 2017
In any event we are EXTREME VETTING people coming into the U.S. in order to help keep our country safe. The courts are slow and political!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 5, 2017
Rove said those tweets not only go against the people around him saying it’s not a ban, but Trump was the one who “signed the watered-down version” so he’s essentially criticizing himself.
He also said that last tweet about extreme vetting is “damaging.”
Martha MacCallum brought up the tweet today from George Conway criticizing the president’s tweets, even though he subsequently clarified he still supports him.
