Kelly Loeffler Dodges When Bret Baier Repeatedly Presses Her on Whether She Would’ve Voted to Override Trump’s Veto
President Donald Trump’s veto of the National Defense Authorization Act even concerned some Republicans, and last week both the House and Senate
On Fox News Sunday, Bret Baier questioned Senator Kelly Loeffler, who was not present for the vote, and pressed her on how she would have voted.
Loeffler just said she’s stood with Trump “100 percent of the time” and praised him for “putting America first.”
SHe didn’t directly address the NDAA vote, and Baier immediately picked up on that, saying, “Obviously Georgia is a big defense state, current and former military here, defense business here. How would you have voted had you voted on that veto override?”
Loeffler pointed to her initial vote for the NDAA before saying, “I don’t know.”
“You would have sustained the veto… on the NDAA?” Baier again asked.
Loeffler again went back to talking up the stakes of the runoff campaigns, saying if Republicans lose, “our military will be defunded and worse.”
Before moving on, Baier pointed out, “That’s not a yes or no whether you would sustain the veto or not.”
“That’s right,” Loeffler said.
