Lara Trump Calls for ‘Truth and Transparency’ from Trump Administration on Epstein Files
Lara Trump called for more “truth and transparency” from President Donald Trump’s administration over the Epstein Files.
The president’s daughter-in-law joined Fox Business’ Stuart Varney on Thursday where she said people want to see more documents from the Epstein case released. The late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein died of an apparent suicide in 2019 while being charged with sex trafficking.
“You said that the White House needs, quote, more transparency on Epstein. What exactly do you want to see happen?” Varney asked Lara Trump, referring to an interview she did earlier this week with Benny Johnson.
“Well, I think this is what people want to see happen. You know, it’s amazing because you look at this president and Stuart, he really has been a president for truth and transparency. Look at all the things that he was able to expose that so many presidents before him couldn’t. The fake news media, as he calls them, right? The legacy media having such a bias against Republicans, against him. Really, the swamp in Washington, D.C.,” Trump said.
She claimed Trump wants to see a “release” of documents despite the president lashing out at his own supporters over Epstein and repeatedly calling the alleged existence of a high profile client list a “hoax.”
“You heard him there say, I believe yesterday and two days ago, even, anything credible, he wants the Department of Justice to release. He wants Pam Bondi to release. And I think that that’s what his supporters certainly want to see happen. He tends to agree with them, and that’s why he’s saying that,” Trump said.
The president said this week he is for Attorney General Pam Bondi releasing “whatever she thinks is credible.” Bondi and the administration have come under fire from MAGA supporters after a Department of Justice/FBI memo claimed there is no Epstein list and the billionaire committed suicide. Bondi herself referenced an Epstein list in February.
“Do you think there’s more to be produced, more to reveal?” Varney asked Lara Trump on Thursday.
“Well look, I work right here at Fox News, I don’t work for the administration, I don’t know exactly what’s going on there and what they have, but I do think that ultimately more will come out because he has been committed as a president during his first term and second term now to truth, transparency and that goes for all things and I believe it will include this as well,” she said.
In comments to Johnson earlier this week, Lara Trump said there needs to be “more transparency” from the administration on the Epstein Files fallout.
