Maher Trips Up Guests with ‘Racist’ Paul Ryan Quote… Except Michelle Obama Said it

Bill Maher took on Paul Ryan‘s recent comments about black culture and while he didn’t necessarily agree with Ryan, he did find it striking that prominent black people have made the same point he did but haven’t been attacked by the left, which begged the question, “Is something less true if a white person says it?”

Comedian W. Kamau Bell argued you can’t blame people in the inner city “for not having jobs when there’s no jobs in the inner cities.” Republican Rick Lazio pointed out that Democrats are the ones running these cities and asked what they’ve ever done to solve the problem.

Maher then read a quote from Paul Ryan about how lazy kids are these days and how they need to aspire to be more than “ballers” and “rappers”… except that Ryan didn’t say it. Michelle Obama did. Maher asked, “Is something less true if a white person says it about black people?”
