Matt Schlapp and CNN’s Berman Clash Over Brutally Ratio’d Tweet and Politicized SCOTUS Process
Matt Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union, appeared on CNN for a heated clash with John Berman over the new allegation against Brett Kavanaugh.
Deborah Ramirez, 53, spoke out to the New Yorker with new claims that the Supreme Court nominee, at a dorm party at Yale University in the 1980s, exposed himself and thrust his penis in her face. Senate Democrats are investigating her allegations, and have called for Kavanaugh’s Thursday testimony on Christine Ford‘s allegations to be postponed.
Berman kicked off his interview with Schlapp by asking him about his latest tweet to fall victim to a brutal ratio:
This Kavanaugh confirmation has transformed into a disgrace. How is it when Dems win their SC noms get an easy time, but ours get mauled.

“Now, there were those who pointed out some irony in that tweet given that Merrick Garland didn’t even get a hearing,” Brennan noted.
“John name the other Democratic pick that Republicans knocked back,” Schlapp said. “I’ll wait.”
Brennan pointed out that President Donald Trump‘s last Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch “soared through” the confirmation process.
The two clashed over Democratic vs. Republican treatment of SCOTUS nominees, with Schlapp claiming Kavanaugh is “the fifth constitutionalist vote on the court,” so is “guilty of being the personification of the fight between blue and red.”
Following the heated clash, a presumably exhausted Schlapp took to Twitter:
After my CNN hit I walked to the lobby cafe muttering and the kind waitress asked if a need a full “pot.”
“Tempting but coffee will do”
