McMaster on WaPo Report: ‘I Was in the Room, It Didn’t Happen’
National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster briefly addressed the press following the big report on President Donald Trump allegedly revealing classified information to top Russian officials.
McMaster said, “The story that came out tonight as reported is false.”
He said Trump and the Russian foreign minister went over a “range of common threats,” but added, “At no time were intelligence sources or methods discussed. And the president did not disclose any military operations that were not already publicly known.”
McMaster slammed the anonymous sourcing in the report and concluded, “I was in the room, it didn’t happen.”
His statement, however, was closely parsed on Twitter:
Watch McMaster's statement carefully: “at no time were sources or methods discussed.” WaPo report never said Trump revealed sources/methods. pic.twitter.com/SF3rWDqKFi

McMaster keeps denying something no one reporting (that methods or sources were discussed), which makes it easier to believe actual report.

McMaster saying "sources and methods" is a red herring. Article doesnt say Trump revealed sources and methods to Russians.
