Megyn Kelly Defends ‘Brave’ Capehart over ‘Hands Up Don’t Shoot’ Admission Backlash
Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart admitted yesterday he was wrong about “hands up don’t shoot,” and Megyn Kelly defended Capehart from some of the liberal backlash he’s been getting.
Capehart’s been getting some blowback on Twitter, but Kelly credited him tonight for being “brave enough to admit he was wrong.” Howard Kurtz joined in to say he was being very “courageous.”
Kelly scolded conservatives for attacking Capehart for just now changing his mind, when they should just embrace Capehart’s admission. But she and Kurtz were also disturbed at some of the things liberals have been saying to Capehart.
And to Kelly, there’s another big question here: whether members of Congress or NFL players that used the “hands up don’t shoot gesture” will “be as vocal about Officer Wilson’s vindication as they were in their rush to condemn him.”
