Michael Moore: Democrats ‘Have to Start Running People Who Can Win’
Michael Moore, who warned Democrats last year that Donald Trump could win the election, said on Morning Joe today that the party needs to be offering the strong “alternative” to Trump.
Moore said this in response to Joe Scarborough asking why so many people continue to stick with Trump despite everything that’s happened since he took office.
As for the hopes of Democrats that they’re going to take the House in 2018, Moore expressed his skepticism, asking, “Really? Well, where are all those great candidates for next year?”
He argued that Democrats need to be finding more “beloved” candidates at the local level to run, summing up the strategy as “we have to start running people who can win.”
Moore is currently on Broadway doing a one-man show titled The Terms of My Surrender, saying he’s trying to “answer the question ‘how the heck did this happen and how do we prevent it from happening again?'”
