CNN’s New Day Hits Trump for Tweeting About LaVar Ball Instead of Navy Flight Crash
On Wednesday’s showing of New Day, CNN’s Chris Cuomo and Alisyn Camerota wondered whether President Trump has his priorities in order, particularly when it comes to his tweeting.
The president had just acknowledged the situation in the Sea of Japan where eight Americans were recovered after a US Navy plane crashed off the coast of Okinawa.
The @USNavy is conducting search and rescue following aircraft crash. We are monitoring the situation. Prayers for all involved. https://t.co/1AxmegKqvu

However, the president’s Navy tweet came hours after he spent the morning continuing his feud with LaVar Ball and complaining some more about professional athletes who kneel before the national anthem.
As Cuomo and Camerota cycled through Trump’s tweets today, they wondered why the president chose not to talk about the Navy’s situation first when it’s a more pressing issue than his squabbles with political enemies.
“We learned about this some time ago,” said Cuomo. “The president must have known about it when we did, at least we assume, but he wasn’t talking about this.”
Here are the tweets Trump decided to prioritize ahead of his statement on the Navy:
It wasn’t the White House, it wasn’t the State Department, it wasn’t father LaVar’s so-called people on the ground in China that got his son out of a long term prison sentence – IT WAS ME. Too bad! LaVar is just a poor man’s version of Don King, but without the hair. Just think..

…LaVar, you could have spent the next 5 to 10 years during Thanksgiving with your son in China, but no NBA contract to support you. But remember LaVar, shoplifting is NOT a little thing. It’s a really big deal, especially in China. Ungrateful fool!

The NFL is now thinking about a new idea – keeping teams in the Locker Room during the National Anthem next season. That’s almost as bad as kneeling! When will the highly paid Commissioner finally get tough and smart? This issue is killing your league!…..
