Nikki Haley Claims You Become ‘17% More Anti-Semitic’ Every Time You Watch 30 Minutes of TikTok Per Day
Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley claimed on Wednesday that young people become “17% more anti-Semitic” every time they spend 30 minutes or more on TikTok per day.
Haley — who in September told Republican rival Vivek Ramaswamy, “Every time I hear you, I feel a little bit dumber” — made the bizarre claim while pledging to ban TikTok during NewsNation’s Republican primary debate on Wednesday.
“We really do need to ban TikTok once and for all, and let me tell you why,” Haley declared. “For every 30 minutes that someone watches TikTok every day, they become 17% more anti-Semitic, more pro-Hamas based on doing that.”
She continued, “We now know that 50% of adults 18 to 25 think that Hamas was warranted in what they did with Israel. That’s a problem. When campuses also don’t go and protect when they have these rallies, and you’ve got students that are scared, we need to to to these universities and say if you’re not going to protect these students, if you’re not going to acknowledge anti-Semitism, we’ll take your tax exempt status away.”
Haley concluded, “That’ll fix it and that’ll take care of it for good.”
The former South Carolina governor has made banning TikTok one of the main pledges of her presidential campaign.
Last month, during NBC News’ Republican primary debate, Haley got into a verbal brawl with Ramaswamy after he pointed out that Haley’s own daughter had used TikTok.
