NYT’s Amy Chozick: Hillary Clinton’s ‘Given Up on the Mainstream Media’

New York Times reporter Amy Chozick––who covered the Hillary Clinton campaign for the Times last year––spoke with CNN’s Brian Stelter this morning about Clinton’s recent digs at the media.

Clinton has expressed that she doesn’t think the press overall did its job during the election.

Chozick believes that the media certainly should be doing some “soul-searching” about its role in the election, though she did note part of the criticism seems to be presented as if “it was our job to get Hillary Clinton elected.”

She also pointed out that Clinton’s distrust of the press didn’t start in 2016. As she and Stelter talked about Clinton calling for a liberal version of Fox News, Chozick observed that it looks like Clinton has “given up on the mainstream media.”
