Omarosa Tells MSNBC She Wasn’t Alone in Secretly Recording WH Conversations: ‘There are Others’
Omarosa Manigault Newman provoked outrage from President Donald Trump after it was revealed she had recorded private conversations within the White House, but the former TV star says it wasn’t just her.
Trump’s Apprentice co-star turned aide turned enemy made waves by releasing audio of talks with staffers, including from inside the Situation Room. However, she now claims it was done by additional individuals as well.
“There were others who recorded conversations in the White House,” she told MSNBC’s Alex Witt in an interview Sunday. “They had to. This is a White House where lying is just a sport. People lie to each other. You can leave a meeting and go into another meeting and the person will have already beat you with their lie. It’s the most bizarre environment I’ve ever worked [in].”
Asked by Witt just how many conversations she’d recorded during her time in the administration, Manigault Newman said she wasn’t at liberty to discuss the matter in detail.
“I won’t disclose the number, because we have to remember that Donald Trump has sicced his entire legal team on me,” she said. “Right now I’m in the middle of arbitration with Donald Trump because they want to stop, of course, any more release of the tapes, they want to take me to bat because of the corruption I exposed when Laura Trump tried to bribe me for $15,000 a month to stay silent.”
While the extent of Manigualt Newman’s library of recordings remains unclear, her actions have shaken the White House and appear to have prompted anxiety from a president who isn’t sure what’s been caught on tape.
