O’Reilly: Not Since Nixon Has the Press Been ‘So Determined to Bring Someone Down’
Bill O’Reilly tonight said we should all expect that “the press and Donald Trump will be an ongoing soap opera.”
He recapped today’s press conference, in which Trump clashed with CNN’s Jim Acosta and called his network “fake news,” and O’Reilly observed that the president-elect’s demeanor was just as “direct” as ever.
The press, he thinks, is still “fixated on the election” and looking for any way to take him down:
“There’s no question in my mind that the hunt… for a Trump-Russia connection during the campaign remains very intense and active, some in the national media wanting to de-legitimize the vote. And at this point, that’s the only way to do it, linking the Trump campaign to Putin… Donald Trump helped himself today, but he’d better watch his back. Not since Richard Nixon has the national press corps been so determined to bring someone down.”
