Report: Brian Williams to Host New Late-Night MSNBC Show
According to reporting from CNN, MSNBC’s Brian Williams is being eyed for a new show in the 11 PM time slot starting Labor Day.
Williams’ show would be temporary for now, ending its run on Election Day. The show would serve as sort of a wrap-up of the day’s news and last only a half-hour.
Williams was the host of NBC Nightly News for a decade and the short-lived Rock Center with Brian Williams. But his tenure ended last year after it was discovered that he had exaggerated or lied about several anecdotes of his time covering the Iraq War and Hurricane Katrina. Williams joined MSNBC months later to serve as its breaking news anchor.
