Republican Senator Says ‘Attractive’ and ‘Ethnic’ AOC Is ‘A Creation of the Media’

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) claimed that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is a media favorite because she “checks all the boxes,” but is as “shallow as a puddle.”

Ocasio-Cortez has been holding rallies with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on their Fight the Oligarchy tour, and this weekend she campaigned for New York Democratic state Rep. Zohran Mamdani, who is aiming to unseat New York Mayor Eric Adams.

Kennedy appeared on Tuesday’s Hannity on Fox News, where the host asked the senator about Ocasio-Cortez.

“But you look at the leadership in the Democratic Party,” Sean Hannity said. “You’ve got AOC flying around with grandpa Bernie to fight the oligarchy, spending $3,500 on hotels and fancy places, and dining out and living like kings and queens,” the host said. “That’s fine, but I thought that they were fighting the oligarchy. Then you’ve got Mamdani. Then you’ve got The Squad. Then you’ve got AOC and The Squad.”

Hannity called them “the leading voices of the Democratic Party.

“Look, I don’t hate anyone, Sean,” Kennedy replied. “But Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is a creature, or creation of the media. She checks all the boxes. She’s young, she’s liberal, she’s attractive, she’s ethnic. Her problem is that she’s shallow as a puddle. You scratch the surface, and you just get more surface. For her recent conduct, which you talked about, she gets and deserves a certificate of hypocrisy. And I would remind her that it’s not your beliefs that make you a good person, it’s your behaviour. Watch what politicians do, not what they say.”
