Rubio: ‘I Would Hope’ I Can Trust Trump or Hillary with the Nuclear Codes
Marco Rubio once said he doesn’t trust Donald Trump with the nuclear codes, but today he was more diplomatic in talking about both Trump and Hillary Clinton having their finger on the button.
On Face the Nation, John Dickerson asked Rubio if, unlike Trump, he trusts Clinton with the nuclear codes. He said that his concerns about Clinton on a global scale are far broader than that, saying she has serious issues of judgment when it comes to Russia, Syria, etc.
Dickerson asked again about trusting her with the nuclear codes. Rubio said the gravity of the office is so serious that “I would hope that I can trust, no matter who wins, with the nuclear codes.”
Even though Rubio is de facto supporting Trump, he made it quite clear earlier this month that he stands by that particular criticism.
