Sesame Street’s Next 5 Seasons Will Premiere on HBO
According to a story that broke this morning in The New York Times — #NotTheOnion — Sesame Street is headed to HBO this fall.
The next five seasons of the classic children’s program will premiere on HBO and its streaming platforms, where they will live exclusively for nine months before airing on PBS, which has been the show’s home for 45 years.
The new agreement will allow Sesame Workshop to produce 35 new episodes per season, up from the 18 they have been putting out in recent years, however they will be shortened from one hour to 30 minutes each.
Cue the inevitable Twitter jokes…

Now that HBO has a partnership with Sesame Street we'll finally learn how to spell the names of all the Game of Thrones characters.

Does this mean we’re going to get more Game of Thrones parodies?
