Stephanie Ruhle: If Trump Doesn’t Like Being Called a Liar Then ‘He Should Stop Lying’

MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle punched back at President Donald Trump’s attacks on the media, calling him a liar and adding that if he does not wish to be labeled that way, then “he should stop lying.”

“Let’s always remind our audience, while the president talks about the negative media bias, it’s called fact checking. Every day the president of the United States lies, and every day, the media fact checks him,” Ruhle said on her show today amid a flurry of attacks against the media by Trump. “So, calling him a liar surely makes him feel terrible and angry and if he would like that to stop, he should stop lying.”

Earlier this morning, Trump slammed the media for their coverage of the spat of suspected explosive devices that were shipped to liberal politicians and pundits:

Rhule made the remarks after an MSNBC reporter on the segment noted that while Trump “spoke out against violence and violent rhetoric” after reports about the bomb threats first came out, his comments since — to some — “seem to undercut the original message.”

Trump has claimed the bomb threats have “greatly” slowed Republican momentum ahead of the midterms.
