Steve Bannon Says ‘Trump Is Going to Prison’ if a Democrat Wins in 2028

Steve Bannon said President Donald Trump will go to prison if a Democrat wins the White House in 2028.

Trump faced criminal charges in four separate cases, one of which yielded convictions on 34 counts of falsifying business records in New York. He was also under indictment in two federal cases brought by former Special Counsel Jack Smith, who prosecuted Trump over his attempt to overturn the 2020 election and his retention of government documents after leaving office in January 2021. Smith dropped the cases last year after Trump won, citing the Department of Justice’s policy of not prosecuting sitting presidents. A fourth case, in Georgia, is technically still active, but essentially moribund.

Bannon, who served as an adviser to Trump in the first administration, appeared on Thursday’s edition of Bolling! on Real America’s Voice, where he railed against U.S. District Judge James Boasberg.

In a hearing on March 15, Boasberg ordered the Trump administration to turn around planes carrying Venezuelan immigrants from the U.S. to El Salvador, where they have since been imprisoned. Lawyers for the Department of Justice ignored Boasberg’s order, saying they did not believe it counted because it was given verbally. In addition, Boasberg is presiding over a lawsuit against the administration stemming from Monday’s bombshell report about a journalist at The Atlantic being inadvertently added to a Trump administration group chat where looming airstrikes in Yemen were discussed.

Bannon insisted it is no coincidence that Boasberg, who has been the subject of innumerable attacks from Trump and his allies, has landed yet another key case involving the administration. He also said Democrats are doing everything they can to stop the president.

“We are kidding ourselves if we don’t think that Democrats are pulling all stops out to stop President Trump to take the House through any means necessary to impeach Trump,” Bannon said, claiming Democrats would impeach the president for a third time if they retake the House in the 2026 midterms.

“And God forbid we don’t win in ’28, President Trump is going to prison,” he continued. “And people are sitting around – still with the glow of November 4th and all the inaugurations and all the balls. We’re at war and things that’ve happened in the last 72 hours, if you don’t understand we’re in political warfare, you’re not awake.”
