Today Show’s Cute And Cuddly Animal Segment Turns Chaotic

On the Today Show‘s “Call of the Wild” segment Wednesday morning, things went from cute and cuddly to chaotic (but still cuddly) within a few minutes. Today’s edition of the segment featured “baby animals who like to roam all over the place,” which ultimately means anarchy.

First the co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Natalie Morales met an aardvark, who gave Guthrie a scare when it approached her feet to sniff.

After meeting a kangaroo, the group moved on to a table full of screech-owls, and then things got a little bizarre.

A porcupine entered and clearly frightened Guthrie, who began walking around the set to avoid coming into contact with the spiky creature. “I’m going to get out of the way here,” she said nervously as she walked about, eventually hiding behind Morales.

As the group had a laugh at Guthrie’s expense, the screech-owls flew away from their perch up into the studio rafters.

“What is happening with this segment?” Guthrie exclaimed, as the animal trainer laughed and said that this is the first time those owls have ever flown.

“Alright, things are getting crazy here,” Guthrie concluded. And the segment ended.
