Trevor Noah Tears Into ‘Sh*tstorm Donald’ for Tweets Doubting Puerto Rico Death Toll
Following President Donald Trump‘s erroneous claim that Hurricane Maria’s death toll was enlarged by Democrats looking to bolster their political agendas, Trevor Noah mocked the commander in chief for his outlandish remarks.
During Thursday night’s episode of The Daily Show, the comedian ripped into Trump’s morning tweets, which falsely stated “3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico.”
“As Hurricane Florence bears down on the East Coast, most people are preparing for the impending disaster,” Noah said, referring to the developing storm barreling into the Carolinas. “President Trump, on the other hand, is still trying to deal with the disaster he’s created for himself.”
Reviewing a handful of strong rebukes of Trump’s tweets, Noah theorized about what Trump actually meant.
“He’s saying he would have won the hurricane if you deduct the thousands of people who died illegally,” Noah joked. “After all the beef Trump has had, it was only a matter of time before he started a fight with dead people.”
He then pointed out that the president’s evaluation of the numbers didn’t account for anything more than direct deaths, sorely underestimating the impact of the catastrophe.
The show then did some comprehensive weather coverage of “Shitstorm Donald.”
