‘Uh, I’m Good’: Anderson Cooper Rejects CNN Reporter’s Offer of ‘Lumpy’ Mike Lindell Pillows
CNN reporter Donie O’Sullivan checked in with My Pillow founder Mike Lindell amid an ongoing lawsuit against the businessman. After the report wrapped, O’Sullivan offered to give Anderson Cooper one of Lindell’s pillows, which the host declined.
Lindell is being sued by Eric Coomer, a former Dominion Voting Systems employee who says Lindell defamed him. (Dominion is suing Lindell in a separate lawsuit.) After the 2020 election, Lindell made baseless claims about election fraud while singling out Dominion and Coomer, calling him a “traitor to the United States of America.” Coomer said he had to go into hiding as a result of Lindell’s actions.
During O’Sullivan’s report, CNN aired a clip of Lindell’s March 2023 deposition in the Coomer case. An attorney for the plaintiff asked Lindell about “lumpy pillow calls” from dissatisfied customers. The question set Lindell off.
“No, they’re not lumpy pillows, that’s not what they call on, ok?” Lindell objected. “When you say ‘lumpy pillows,’ now you’re an asshole! You’re an asshole. You got that? You’re an asshole is what you are!”
O’Sullivan noted that during jury selection in the Coomer case, prospective jurors were asked if they had purchased My Pillow products.
“And they eliminated those,” Lindell said. “Each said can eliminate people.”
“This must be the first trial ever, where the jury pool was selected based on what pillow they slept on,” O’Sullivan observed.
Lindell chuckled and the report ended. O’Sullivan turned to Cooper.
“Anderson, I know today’s your birthday,” O’Sullivan noted of the 58-year-old. “We’re gonna try to bring you back a My Pillow. But some people are saying they’re pretty lumpy.”
“Uh, I’m good,” the host replied. “I’m good on My Pillows, thank you. I appreciate it.”
