Watch a Cuban Rock Iguana Have Accident All Over Colbert’s Desk: ‘I Would Rather He Bit Me’

Youtube wildlife host Coyote Peterson appeared on The Late Show and brought a couple of guests with him.

He first brought out a rather large Cuban rock iguana, which was placed on Stephen Colbert‘s desk. At first, Colbert was pretty hesitant around the iguana, but quickly warmed up to it.

And unfortunately for Colbert, the iguana warmed up too… to the desk that is.

“Okay!” Colbert exclaimed as he shot up from his chair.

He immediately bombarded his desk with tissues in an attempt to clean up the mess.

“I would rather he bit me,” Colbert told his audience.

Peterson joked that the iguana “knew what it takes to make a viral video,” but that wasn’t enough to keep him around.

“Let’s move on!” The Late Show host said.

“You don’t want to feed him some bananas?” Peterson asked.

“Nope,” Colbert quickly responded. “I… uh… don’t want to load him up again.”

The iguana was then taken away and in its place came a green anole, “one of the most dangerous lizards in the world” and it apparently knows how to bite.

“If you are brave enough, and I know that you are, you are going to be bitten by one of these anoles,” Peterson told Colbert.

Peterson advised Colbert to “mentally prepare himself” and told him to look into the camera and repeat after him.

“I’m Stephen Colbert and I’m about to enter the bite zone with the green anole,” Colbert told his viewers.

He then placed the lizard near Colbert’s ear… and it took quite a bite.
