WATCH: Body Cam Footage Catches Democrats ‘Screaming’ at ICE Agents at NJ Facility Where Mayor Was Arrested

Body camera footage released by the Department of Homeland Security shows physical confrontation and shouting between federal agents and Democratic officials during the arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka at a New Jersey ICE detention center Friday.

Fox News showed the footage obtain from DHS, which captured the scene outside Delaney Hall in Newark.

According to Fox News reporter Alicia Acuna, the video showed “New Jersey Democratic representatives shoving DHS agents and screaming in ICE agents’ faces while trying to enter.”

Fox correspondent CB Cotton, reporting from the facility, said the footage depicted Baraka being arrested amid a chaotic encounter that included shoving and thrown elbows.

“His arrest came as three members of New Jersey’s Democratic congressional delegation were there on site for what they said was an oversight visit,” Cotton reported.

Baraka was detained on Friday while participating in a protest opposing the reopening of the ICE facility.

DHS officials said he was not authorized to enter and attempted to gain access as a bus of detainees arrived. A DHS statement accused the lawmakers of “storming the gate, passing security.”

Baraka, a Democrat, was released shortly after he was detained.

During an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on Friday night, he said he said he had done nothing wrong.

Interim US Attorney Alina Habba, a former personal attorney to President Donald Trump, defended the arrest and accused Baraka of trespassing.

Habba said the mayor “chose to disregard lawful orders.”

Baraka disputed Habba’s claims:

She doesn’t know what happened. Clearly, that is not the context of what happened. I was there for over an hour in that space, and nobody ever told me to move. I was in there for an hour. Not a single person, not an officer from ICE, not any of the security guards. Nobody told me to leave that place. Somebody from Homeland Security came in the end and began to escalate the situation, and we wind up being where we are today. And that’s, frankly, the extent of it.

Baraka concluded, “So she was not there, so she should get some better information.”

Democratic Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman, Rob Menendez Jr., and LaMonica McIver were all present at Delaney Hall on Friday.
