Watch: Colbert Destroys Trump’s Oval Office Speech With Hilarious ‘Bird Box’ Parody
Stephen Colbert combined two different kinds of horror when he lampooned Donald Trump‘s Oval Office address with a dead-on parody ad for a sequel to the Netflix thriller “Bird Box.”
The cold open to Tuesday night’s edition of CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was a trailer for “Bird Box 2” that reenacts the film’s opening scene, in which Sandra Bullock’s character warns two little children not to remove their blindfolds “or I will hurt you.”
But in Colbert’s sequel, the menace is more well-defined.
“The president is making a speech tonight about the crisis on the border,” the terrified woman tells the kids.
“There’s a crisis?” asks one of the children.
“No. No, there’s no crisis,” the woman responds. “The point is the speech will be so insane that if you watch it, you will want to hurt yourself.”
Funny stuff. Can’t wait to see “Grab ’em by the Bandersnatch.”
