Watch Jordan Klepper Get Trump Rally-Goers to Admit January 6 Was Their Favorite Trump Event

The Daily Show has returned with new episodes, which means Jordan Klepper has also returned to put his finger on the pulse of America’s body politic.

Klepper’s visits to Trump rallies are always a highlight for social anthropologists and world-class comedy television editing, and unintentional proof of Allan Bloom’s seminal tome, The Closing of the American Mind, but I digress.

Klepper’s deadpan, straight-faced approach to asking embarrassing and even legally incriminating questions to unsuspecting Trump supporters who are unfamiliar with media training or post-production editing suites always delivers comedy gold. Considering who else they’ve acknowledged, Klepper should be considered for a future Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

In this most recent segment, Klepper and crew visited the “beautiful shores of Lake Winipausakee” in New Hampshire, and, yes, hijinks unfolded.

There was the “Never Surrender” tee-shirt-wearing dude who was dumbfounded into silence when Klepper pointed out the Trump mug shot literally came from his surrender.

Then there’s the guy who eagerly parrots Trump’s animosity towards General Mark Milley, but is left confused when pressed to comment on U.S. military leadership sending support to Israel.  Or the guy who blames President Joe Biden for a terrible economy that has allowed him to spend thousands of dollars on essentials like Trump-branded socks, caps, and a Trump flag in which he is draped.

But the highlight might be the two separate rally-goers who both relished their attendance at the January 6th rally that led to the brutal attack on the Capitol. One interviewee admitted that it was his first, but when pressed on whether he entered the Capitol building, he declined to answer for fear of self-incrimination.
