WATCH: SNL’s 4 New Featured Players in Action
With Fred Armisen, Bill Hader and Jason Sudeikis all leaving this past spring and Seth Meyers headed to Late Night in February, Saturday Night Live has a lot of holes to fill in its cast line-up. As The New York Times’ Dave Itzkoff brilliantly laid out in his oral history of the SNL audition process yesterday, getting a spot on the show is probably the most stressful experience a young comedian can have.
Now, Deadline has identified four “top candidates” who they say the show is seriously eying for “featured player” spots this fall. Beck Bennett, Noël Wells, John Milhiser and Kyle Mooney all hail from Los Angeles’ Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Nothing is set in stone yet, and Lorne Michaels could easily go a different direction. But assuming these four performers do end up on this show, here’s a look at some of their best work to date.
